On this project near Clarksburg, WV, geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS) and Integrated Bridge System (IBS) came together to provide an economical solution for accelerated bridge construction. The first of its kind in West Virginia, this system is commonly referred to as GRS-IBS and is an FHWA approved system that falls under the Every Day Counts initiative for rapid bridge replacements.
